Hello All!
So this will be the first post of many showing the room makeover I just finished for my daughter Sarah. About 3 years ago I garbage picked these two display pieces to use for my art shows:
I brought them up to Sarah's room thinking that I might make a headboard or something for her bed (sometimes I really need to visualize ya know!!)
Well, I called my husband Mike into the room and asked him to humor me. "What if...", I said, "we used these for a base and make a loft out of them"?
Usually, at this point, Mike rolls his eyes and says "good luck". But, to my surprise, he did not say that this time. He actually thought it was a good idea!
So off to the lumber store I went. I will post the outcome soon!!
In the meantime, my friend Laurel Flannery gave me this chair to re-do. Because I was adding a desk top to the loft, I knew my daughter would need a chair to sit on. Here is the before chair:
The base of the chair: (pretty, but definitely needs something)
A sideways close-up of one of the legs:
The seat.
Here is the after:
So pretty! Used Annie Sloan's Old White, and a beautiful Toile in green and white. The detail actually has children playing, and swinging outside in the tree's.
Another sideway's view!! You can see a sneak preview of the desk behind the chair!
More to come tomorrow :) xoxoxoxoxo
